Our Location
The former Meadowbrook Elementary School is an ideal location for a preschool and daycare. The classrooms are bright and spacious and we have our own gymnasium, playing field, and forest!
Purcell Preschool is located five minutes north of downtown Kimberley across the highway from the Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 board office and bus yard. We share the building and surrounding campus space with Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF), a French-language elementary school.
Our classrooms are big, bright, and designed for learning! They have been set-up and equipped to provide children with comfortable and enjoyable environments suitable for an entire day’s attendance at Purcell Preschool.
Our goal was to create environments that facilitated learning and growth but also functioned as a home away from home.
Purcell Preschool is home to the only Outclass outdoor classroom in the East Kootenay! This unique amenity is located in our incredible outdoor play space, a fenced area inside the playing field of the former elementary school.
Our outdoor classroom is ideally suited to learning outside, an opportunity we are committed to cultivating for children to instill a lifelong interest in nature.
We acknowledge that Purcell Preschool sits on the traditional, ancestral homeland of the Ktunaxa peoples. Our neighbours, friends, and partners are members of the ʔaq̓am Community. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, learn, and work on this special land for this important purpose: to connect our educational environment to the natural environment, fostering learning and inspiring leadership in the Ktunaxa way – as keepers of the land and waters.
